Sarah Tweet
FOUNDER and Lead coach
Sarah Tweet is an experienced, engaging and dynamic live and studio performer, songwriter and passionate vocal coach with a background in rock, pop, jazz, musical theatre and Americana styles. She is known for her powerful alto voice with a three octave range and a belting tone that demands you stop and listen.
Sarah grew up in the Pacific Northwest and her love for music was piqued early in life as she discovered her parents record collection (ABBA, Johnny Cash, Elvis, John Denver were favorites). Sarah's love for singing developed in her early teens after her first experience on a microphone on stage at church. She studied music at Pierce College, starting at the age of 16 and was a member of Farwest Jazz under the direction of Evin Lambert and Kelly Kunz (Groove for Thought).
After college, Sarah invested 5 years studying voice and coaching with Jack Gorrecht at Garray Music Studios, an advocate of the Bel Canto vocal method. Sarah entered a televised singing contest called Gimme the Mic that aired on King 5 in Seattle and made it to the top 5 as a finalist, which propelled Sarah into more performing and writing. She wrote and recorded her first album (Sarah Tweet - Studio EP) in 2006 and moved to Nashville, Tennessee to continue development. While in Nashville, Sarah worked on a number of studio projects for artists heard on major radio stations.
Sarah has studied with a number of vocal, performance, recording and songwriting coaches including Erin Guinup, Evin Lambert, Jack Gorrecht (Bel Canto method), Barbie Anika and Judy Stakee, and combines what she has learned from each with her own 20 years of performing and coaching experience to develop the authentic and powerful voices of her students.
Sarah is a sought out coach for aspiring and experienced singers interested in pop, gospel, jazz, R&B, harmony, musical theater, country and soul music. Her students have gone on to have successful careers as recording artists, background vocalists, songwriters, actors and vocal coaches. She has also been a Music Together-licensed early music education instructor and enjoys working with the youngest of singers.
She is also part of Motown-inspired vocal trio, The Jewel Tones, who can be found on Instagram @motownjeweltones.
